Kathy Williams (Thompson) was a member of the track and field team (1979-1983). She earned All-American honors in 1983 when she took 6th place in the NCAA Track and Field Championships in the 800M dash. She won the 800M dash in 1983 and 1984, and the 400M dash at the Mid-American Conference track championships in 1981. At the time of her induction, she still held seven Ohio University Women's Track records. She was Academic All-MAC. She was a tri-captain in 1983 and 1984. She was voted "Best Track Athlete" by her team in 1981, 1982, and 1983. She was named Ohio University's "Outstanding Athlete of the Year" in 1983. She was named "Outstanding Black Woman on Campus" in 1979.
