Richard Shrider played in 19/20 games on the 1947-1948 schedule and scored 311 points in those 19 games for an average of 16.37. He had 117fg and 77ft and a foul shooting percentage of .647. During conference play, he scored a total of 104 points, which was fourth highest among conference players, and averaged 14.85, which was highest in the league. In an NCAA report, he ranked 18th among national leading scorers. He was on the first Mid-American team for the 1947-1948 season. He was also named to the Collegiate Magazine’s first annual Class B All-Midwest team and to the Cleveland Arena’s first All-Arena team. He was selected for the East-West All-Star game during his senior season. He played one season of professional basketball with the New York Knicks.
