Marc Krauss played baseball at Ohio from 2007-2009 before leaving to play professional baseball with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. He was selected 64th overall in the second round of the 2009 MLB draft. In 2009, he was a Louisville Slugger All-American First Team selection by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, a CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Baseball Team selection, a  American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings Mideast Region First Team and First Team All-American Selection. He was also named the 2009 MAC Player of the Year and was named First Team All-MAC. In 2007, Krauss was an All-American as a freshman and was named the MAC Freshman of the Year. He was a First Team All-MAC Selection in 2008. Krauss owns a number of Ohio single-season records, including home runs (27), total bases (178) and slugging percentage (.852), which were set in 2009. He also set the Ohio single season record in walks (48) in 2008. The 70 runs batted in in 2009 ranks second all-time in Ohio history, along with his 73 runs scored in 2009. His 27 homers in 2009 were the second most in a single season in MAC history.Â
