Angus E. King lettered in basketball and baseball at Ohio. After college, he played minor league professional baseball and then pursued a coaching career in Mt. Vernon, Ohio. He continued to serve in sports as he became assistant director of physical education in Cincinnati and eventually Supervisor of Athletics. The football field at Withrow High School was named after him and he was posthumously inducted into the Buddy LaRosa Hall of Fame in 1984. He was also named an All-Ohio Coach in 1938.
