Dutch Trautwein served Ohio University for 35 years and was head basketball coach for 11 of those years, 1938-1949, during which Dutch’s teams won 135 and lost 91. He developed the only Ohio University basketball All-American (at the time of induction) in Frank Baumholtz and his 1941 team, of which Baumie was the leader. That team reached the finals of the NIT. He also served as an assistant football coach, assistant athletic director and ticket manager.
