ATHENS, Ohio — Ohio Head Cross Country and Track & Field Coach Sarah Pease was inducted into the Indiana Track & Field and Cross Country Hall of Fame as a member of the Class of 2026, recognizing an outstanding career as both a student-athlete and coach.
A graduate of South Central High School in Elizabeth, Ind., Pease was a two-time state qualifier in track and cross country and captured 16 Southern Athletic Conference championships. She also earned the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award while helping lead her basketball team to a state runner-up finish.
Pease continued her career at Indiana University, where she became a three-time All-American, Big Ten champion, and school-record holder in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. In cross country, she earned All-Big Ten honors twice, All-Region recognition three times, and qualified for the NCAA Championships.
Following her collegiate career, Pease qualified for four U.S. Olympic Trials, competed at 11 consecutive USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, recorded eight top-10 finishes at the national championships, and represented Team USA at the Pan American Cross Country Championships. She continues to hold Indiana's all-time record in the steeplechase with a personal-best time of 9:40.94.
Now entering her sixth season leading Ohio's cross country and track & field programs, Pease has guided the Bobcats to continued success in competition and the classroom while helping numerous student-athletes achieve personal-best performances and conference honors.
