Courtney Allen received three All-America laurels in 1991 when she placed fifth in the 200-yard butterfly, 10th in the 400-yard medley relay, and 14th in the 400-yard freestyle relay at NCAA's. At the 1991 Mid-American Conference championships, Allen saw four victories in the 200-yard butterfly (third straight), 400-yard medley relay, 800-yard freestyle relay, and 400-yard freestyle relay. She placed fifth in the U.S. National Championships where she was selected for the World University Games. In 1990, Allen helped three relay teams win MAC titles as well as break both MAC and OU records. She qualified in five events for the 1990 NCAA competition. She was also named Outstanding Mid-American Conference Swimmer of the Year in 1990.
