Bob Brenly was an All-American third baseman in 1976, All-District Four in 1976, and All-Mid-American Conference twice--at third base in 1976 and at catcher in 1975. He also played in the outfield during his three years. His 13 doubles in 1975 and 10 home runs in 1976 both tied Mike Schimdt’s records. He was captain in 1976. Brenly's career statistics were: .351 batting average, 20 doubles, 18 home runs, 22 stolen bases, 74 RBI’s, 134 hits, 117 games played, 214 total bases, 381 bats, and 86 runs. He was also on the Dean's List. After Ohio, Brenly signed with the San Francisco Giants as a free agent in 1976. He was the MVP of the Giants in 1984.
