Al Scheider earned Little All-American honors in 1951 as a football tackle. At the time of induction, he was only the third Ohio football player to earn First-Team All-Mid-American Conference honors three consecutive years (1949, 1950, 1951). He was All-Ohio three years. He was United Press International’s Top Lineman in Ohio in 1951. He was his team’s "Most Valuable Player" in 1950 and 1951. He was team captain in 1951. He earned four football letters, having played as a former serviceman. He graduated with a BSIE in 1952.
