Ted Stute won three letters each in football and baseball. In football, he was a starter on the unbeaten 1960 Ohio University National College Championship team. He was a tri-captain and also earned Lineman of the Week three times in 1960. He was All-MAC twice, in 1960 and 1961. He played in the American Bowl in Tuscon in 1961. He was also on the MAC baseball championship team and had a career pitching record of 14-7. After Ohio, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns and signed with the Edmonton Eskimos a year later.
