George Brown was an All-Ohio twice and an All-Buckeye three times in football and three times in baseball. He played on two undefeated football teams, 1929, 9-0-0, 1930, 8-0-0. He was a member of Omicron Delta Kappa, Beta Theta Pi, and founder of the J club. He then became a football coach at Western Reserve for eight years. Brown was a Buckeye Conference, MAC, Ohio Conference and National Football League official for 18 years. He was active in lending support and leadership to Ohio University Athletics.
