Lowell "Duke" Anderson was a member of the Ohio football and baseball teams. He was a three-time AII-MAC First Team offensive and two-time All-Ohio offensive center. He captained the 1953 team which won Ohio University's first MAC football championship. In addition to football, he also pitched for two years, 1953 and 1954, on MAC championship baseball teams. He lettered three years each in football and baseball. He started every football game from his freshman year through his senior season. Anderson was also named to the National All-time Phi Kappa Tau college football team.
