Bill Schmidt earned nine letters in football, basketball, and baseball from 1934-1936. He was his team’s leading pitcher and one of the best-hitting pitchers in Ohio University history, finishing with a .327 career batting average. He helped pitch his 1936 team to a co-championship in the Buckeye Conference. As a wingback, he scored four touchdowns in one game against Morris Harvey in 1934. He was a member of Torch, J-Club, and Beta Theta Pi social fraternity. He graduated with a BS in Education in 1940.
