Hall of Fame
In just five years, Diane Stamm coached back-to-back women’s track championships (1983, 1984), a first ever in school history. She was named Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year three times, 1982-1983-1984. She was named Coach of the Year in the NCAA District IV in 1982 and 1984. She coached the Bobcats to the Ohio Intercollegiate cross-country title in 1982, another first for an Ohio women’s team. She coached 14 individuals to titles in her first five years. When she took over the team, it had been ninth in the MAC. Within three years, Ohio was third. She had two All-Americans in Frances Daniell, who took fifth in the NCAA high jump in 1982 and sixth in the NCAA 800 meters in 1983. Under Stamm, 16 of 29 team records were broken.
