Dave Tobik tied for the national leadership in Earned Run Average among college baseball pitchers with a .84 in 1974. He was All-Mid-American Conference in 1974, and All-District IV. He was co-MVP of his team. He had a career batting average of .357. He set a MAC record with 7 doubles in a league game in 1973. He was a member of the Texas Rangers, the Detroit Tigers, and the Seattle Mariners. He was a three-year letterman. He was a member of Inter-Varsity and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a member of his high school Hall of Fame at Cleveland Brush High School.
