Jackie Conrad was a member of the Ohio cross country and track and field teams (1996-2001). During her freshman campaign, she won the 1996 MAC Cross Country Championship meet with a time of 17:31.76. Conrad won the 5,000-meter title (17:02.42) at the MAC indoor meet in 1997. After the indoor season, her success continued in the outdoor season. In 1997, she won the 3,000-meter, 5,000m, and 10,000-meter races at the MAC outdoor meet where she was voted the 1997 MAC Women’s Track Athlete of the Year. After these feats, she went on to place eighth in the 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and became the second woman in school history to receive this honor. In 1998, she repeated her wins in the 5,000m and 10,000m races and earned All-American Honors again with a fifth-place finish in the 10,000m at the NCAA Outdoor Championships. She received Runner of the Year in 1999.
