Hall of Fame
As an All-American outfielder with the 1958 Bobcats, Lamar Jacobs accumulated a career batting average of .404. This still stands in the top ten in Ohio University baseball history. At the time of induction, his 25 stolen bases ranked third in school history. He was a two-time Mid-American Conference honoree in 1958 and 1959, and his slugging average of .592 ranked ninth at the time of induction. He signed with the Minnesota Twins and played five years of professional baseball for the Twins and Washington Senators.
