Gail Hudson-Ruffins was All-MAC in field hockey, earning four letters and a Regional All-American and Midwest I in lacrosse in which she lettered twice. She was also a Sports Festival Participant and on the National Training Squad in field hockey. She was the Most Valuable Attacker her first two years and MVP her third, plus co-captain. She was always a starter and was invited to the Olympic Team tryouts in 1983. She led the 1981 team to a 13-0 record and was named USWLA Midwest I team (defense) for the National Championships. In 1982, She was a Brine Regional All-Star team member and led Ohio to the regional championship of the AIAW and the AIAW national championships. The team was ranked 8th nationally. She also played a year of varsity basketball, appearing in 9 games.
