William Herbert was the first head track coach and assistant football coach from 1926-1942. He was an All-Ohio football guard in 1924, held numerous school track records, winning six letters, three each football and track. Herbert coached Bobcat track team champions in 1933 and 1935 and All-Ohio champions in 1934.
