Julia Winkfield was a member of the Ohio volleyball team (2002-06). She made her mark on the volleyball program, helping the Bobcats boast a 115-20 record during her career – including a dominant 61-5 mark in MAC play. Ohio captured three MAC regular season and tournament championships and clinched three NCAA Championship berths during that time frame, with the Bobcats posting three wins on the national postseason stage. Winkfield was a team captain in her final two collegiate seasons, Winkfield helped lead Ohio to its best season in program history as a senior in 2005, as the Bobcats recorded their second-straight perfect 16-0 MAC season and advanced all the way to the NCAA Championship Regional Semifinal after recording wins over Alabama and Ohio State in the first two rounds of the tournament. An All-MAC Freshman Team selection in 2002, she was named Honorable Mention All-America and All-Mideast Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, garnered MAC Player of the Year honors and received All-MAC First Team recognition for the second year in a row in her final collegiate season. Winkfield still ranks third in program history in career hitting percentage (.314), sixth in total blocks (425), fifth in block assists (346) and sixth in kills (1,336).
