Bill Frederick was a two-sport standout in football and baseball. Frederick earned All Mid-American Conference honors in both sports. In 1953, he was an All-MAC quarterback on Ohio University’s first MAC championship team. In 1955, he earned All-MAC first team honors at third base. Frederick’s 1,876 yards passing were the most in Ohio University football history at the time. He scored 21 touchdowns and was “Most Outstanding Back” in 1952. In baseball, his career batting average of .360 was in the top ten in school history. He played on two MAC championship baseball teams in 1952 and 1953; the 1954 team finished tied for third. He was enshrined in the Dayton Amateur Baseball Hall of Fame in 1981.
