Kermit Blosser wrestled for Ohio University his senior year and became the school's first national champion at the 191lb weight class. He also played end on the 1929, 1930, 1931 Ohio football teams that won three consecutive Buckeye Conference championships (24-1-1 record). After serving in the military, Blosser returned to Ohio University in 1946 as an assistant coach in football, basketball and wrestling. He was on Ohio’s coaching staff when the school won its first MAC football title (1953) under head coach Carroll Widdoes. He further assisted Jim Snyder on four of his seven MAC championship basketball teams. He also won eighteen MAC Championships after becoming the Ohio golf coach in 1947. Blosser was honored by the Pinehurst Golf Museum in 1976 for his outstanding contributions to the game.
