Al Hart was the Ohio University Trainer after his graduation (1958) until 1971 when he took a similar post at Ohio State University. Hart, who died in 1973, was a former president of District IV of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. He was a former president and vice-president of the Great Lakes Trainers’ Association. Hart served as Job Placement Director for the NATA. He was responsible for launching several training careers of former students and associates, including that of the former head trainer of the Cincinnati Reds, Larry Starr.
