Woodrow Wills won All-Ohio, All-Buckeye, and honorable mention All-American as a football quarterback as well as All-Ohio and All-Buckeye honors as a baseball catcher at Ohio. He won six varsity letters, three each in football and baseball. He was a member of Varsity “O” and Beta Theta Pi social fraternity. Following graduation, Wills had a brief professional baseball career before entering the US Navy from which he was honorably discharged with the rank of Lieutenant, Junior Grade, after four years of service. He served as a teacher, head baseball coach, and assistant football coach at Miami University, receiving Miami’s 25-year award.
