Don Burnison was an All-Ohio and All-Buckeye football offensive guard in 1934 and 1935. He was a part of the “Fabulous Line of 1935” when Ohio University went undefeated (8-0) and won the Buckeye Athlete Association Championship. Burnison was First Team All-Ohio by both wire services in 1935 at offensive guard. He was Second Team All-Ohio by the Associated Press in 1934. He was also named All-Buckeye League by the United Press and nominated to the Coaches’ All-Star Football Team in 1935. He lettered three years in baseball as a catcher and third baseman. He began a coaching career in 1937 and retired in 1974, capping a 37 ½-year teaching and coaching career.
