2023-24: Played in 32 games, averaging 3.8 points in 11.1 minutes a game…Shot .370 from the field, .333 from three and .778 from the line…Averaged 1.5 rebounds a game…Scored a career-high 13 points against Defiance (12/18)…Scored 12 points against Detroit Mercy (11/18)…Grabbed a career-high seven rebounds against Defiance (12/18)…Scored nine points and went 4-for-4 from the line against Buffalo (1/30)…Scored seven points at Buffalo (3/5)…Hit a career-high two three pointers twice.
PRIOR TO OHIO: After redshirting his freshman year at Maryland,Cornish saw action in 21 games last season, while averaging 1.4 points and 4.9 minutes a game. He scored a career-high nine points against Binghamton on Nov. 15 and played a career-high 13 minutes against Saint Peter's on Dec. 22.
Prior to his time at Maryland, Cornish was a consensus four-star recruit via all major recruiting publications. He was the No. 77 overall player, No. 13 overall shooting guard, No. 3 overall player in the state of MD, according to 247Sports and was the No. 32 overall shooting guard and No. 5 player in the state of Maryland via ESPN.
Cornish was a standout at Dulaney High School in Baltimore before spending the last year at Legacy Early College HS in South Carolina. He averaged 15 points per game during his first two years at Dulaney and helped Dulaney reach the state tournament as a sophomore. Cornish also averaged 13.3 points and 3.6 rebounds per game as a junior at Legacy.
PERSONAL: Cornish is the son of Karen and Edward Cornish and has two older brothers, Eddie and Josh.
