ATHENS, Ohio (6/2/2026) — Ohio Director of Athletics Slade Larscheid announced today that head softball coach Jenna Hall has resigned to accept the head coaching position at Illinois, her alma mater. Ohio Athletics will begin a national search for its next head softball coach immediately.
"We are thankful for Coach Hall and the last four seasons. She's continued to build our program into a consistent winner, both on and off the field," Larscheid said. "We wish Jenna nothing but the best moving forward."
In her four seasons with the Bobcats, Hall compiled a 138–86 overall record, becoming the first Ohio head coach to record four straight 30-win seasons.
During her tenure, the two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year coached 14 All-MAC selections, eight All-Region honorees and Skipp Miller, the 2023 MAC Freshman Pitcher of the Year and 2025 MAC Pitcher of the Year. She also coached 33 Academic All-MAC selections and 16 CSC Academic All-District picks.
The 2026 Bobcats finished the season 38–20 and produced one of the greatest offensive campaigns in program history. Ohio set single-season records in batting average (.335), runs (431), hits (526), RBIs (405), doubles (113) and home runs (91).
Individually, Hall coached senior Belle Hummel, who set Ohio single-season records in batting average (.462), hits (91) and runs (82), with the latter two also establishing MAC single-season records. Hall also coached senior Shelby Westler, who set the Ohio single-season RBI record with 66.
