Ohio Softball Adds Transfer Pitcher Clara Phariss to Roster

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio softball has added transfer pitcher Clara Phariss to the roster, head coach Paige McMenemy announced today (Aug. 17).Â
Phariss spent two seasons at IU Indy. Last season, Phariss appeared in 21 games, making 14 starts in the circle. She recorded a 2-8 record with an 8.52 ERA and totaled 13 strikeouts in 58.1 innings. During her freshman year, she appeared in 21 games, making 15 starts in the circle, where she recorded a 5.66 ERA with a 7-7 record. She registered 27 strikeouts in 76.2 innings pitched and threw a nine-inning shutout with six strikeouts against Oakland.Â
Phariss was a four-year letterwinner at Wheeler High School where she made the All-State team in 2023. She made the All-Area Team 2021, 2022, 2023 and All Conference 2021, 2022, 2023. Phariss finished her high school career with a 1.97 ERA, 30 wins, 330 innings pitched, 679 strike outs, and a .197 BAA.
