
Ohio Softball Adds Western Michigan Transfer Kaylee Salyer to the Roster

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio softball has added pitcher Kaylee Salyer, a transfer from Western Michigan, head coach Paige McMenemy announced today (July 14). Â
Salyer spent two seasons at Western Michigan.Â
Salyer has appeared in 39 games in her career, making 16 starts. She holds a career 6.58 ERA, with 43 strikeouts in 105.1 innings pitched.Â
In 2026, Salyer saw action in nine games, going 2-0 in 12.2 innings, while striking out four.Â
In 2025, Salyer appeared in 30 games with 16 starts in the circle as a true freshman for the Broncos. She ended the season with a 6.04 ERA through 92.2 innings pitched and struck out 39 batters while walking 51 through 92 innings. She pitched four complete games for WMU, Miami (3/28), Buffalo (4/4), at Bowling Green (4/11), and Ball State (7.0). She also was named a 2025 Easton/NFCA Academic All-American Scholar-Athlete Â
The Proctorville, Ohio native pitched for Fairland High School. In 2023, she pitched 134.2 innings, struck out 194 batters with only 24 walks and collected a 1.35 ERA. She was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year (2023), Sport Authority First Team All-Area (2023), Herald Dispatch Softball First Team (2023), D2 Southeast District First Team (2023), Ohio Valley Conference First Team (2021, 2022, 2023) and D3 Southeast District First Team (2022). Salyer also won Fairland Heisman High School Scholarship.Â
