2026: Played and started all 58 games at third base…Hit .356 with 63 hits, 18 doubles, two triples, eight home runs, 43 runs scored, and 66 RBI…Recorded a .616 slugging percentage, 109 total bases and drew 21 walks with a .419 on base percentage…In the field, handled the hot corner, recording 46 putouts, 81 assists and nine errors for a .934 fielding percentage…In MAC Play, hit .362 with 34 hits, 10 doubles, six home runs, 42 RBI and 22 runs scored. She recorded a 1.048 OPS with a .680 slugging percentage and a .388 on base percentage…Set the Ohio single season record in RBI and led the MAC in the same category… Against Miami, hit .538 with four extra base hits, 13 RBI and a grand slam, while not recording an error in the field to lead Ohio to the series win…Named Second Team All-MAC and Second Team All-Great Lakes Region…Named DI Softball Mid-Major Player of the Week, NCAA Softball Starting Third Baseman of the Week…Named Academic All-MAC, CSC Academic All-District and Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete..
2025: Started in all 56 games for the Bobcats… Hit .264 with 43 hits in 163 at-bats… Knocked nine doubles, one triple and four home runs… Only struck out eight times… Recorded a .963 fielding percentage… Named Academic All-MAC… Earned Academic All-District Honors.
2024: Started all 44 games played in… Hit .323 with 42 hits in 130 at bats… Scored 21 runs, tallied 19 RBI, nine doubles and four home runs… Went 3-for-5 with two runs against Miami (Mar. 22)… Earned placement to 2024 Academic All-District Softball Team… Named Academic All-MAC.
2023: Appeared in every game with 52 starts… Finished with a .295 batting average with 44 hits in 149 at bats… Scored 24 runs, registering 13 doubles, one triple, four home runs and 35 RBI… Went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two doubles against Toledo on April 26...Named MAC All-Tournament Team.  Â
PRIOR TO OHIO: Westler hit .506 in 26 games...She registered a .549 on base percentage and a .964 slugging percentage...She also recorded 35 RBI...During her junior season she helped lead her team to a 21-5 record and were conference runners-up...She also set the school record in doubles in a season and slugging percentage in a season...Last fall with her Ohio Lasers Red travel team, she hit .524 in 23 games and had a .545 on base percentage and an .857 slugging percentage. She also recorded 24 RBI...Academically, Shelby is a four-time Scholar Athlete, four-time Honor/Merit Roll honoree and a two-time National Honor Society member. This year she also serves as the Vice President of the National Honor Society.Â

PERSONAL: Shelby is the daughter of Allison Hempstead and Pete Westler and she has one older brother, Jacob.
