CLEVELAND -- With the conclusion of the 2026 regular season, the Ohio softball team (36-17, 17-10 MAC) has earned the No. 4 seed at the 2026 Mid-American Conference Tournament May 6-9 at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio. With the No. 4 seed, the Bobcats will begin action on Wednesday, May 6 against No. 5 Central Michigan (23-22, 14-11 MAC) at Noon p.m. ET. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.
With a win, the Bobcats would move into the winner's bracket and face off with No. 1 Akron on Thursday, May 7 at Noon ET. With a loss, Ohio would move to the loser's bracket and play the loser of game two on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. ET.
Akron earned the top seed in this year's tournament as the regular season champions, with NIU earning the second seed. Both teams earned a first round bye and will play Thursday. Miami enters the year at the No. 3 seed, with Ohio at No. 4, CMU at No. 5 and Western Michigan rounding out the field at No. 6.
the 2026 MAC Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, May 9 at 1 p.m. ET, with the if necessary game to follow at 3:30 p.m. ET.
