CLEVELAND -- With the conclusion of the 2025 regular season, the Ohio softball team (35-17, 18-8 MAC) has earned the No. 2 seed at the 2025 Mid-American Conference Tournament May 7-10 at Firestone Stadium in Akron, Ohio. With the No. 2 seed, the Bobcats earned a first-round bye and will begin action on Thursday, May 8 against No. 3 Central Michigan or No. 6 Northern Illinois at 2:30 p.m. ET. All games will be streamed on ESPN+. 

This is the third-straight year Ohio as earned the second seed. 

The double elimination tournament begins Wednesday, May 7 with No. 4. Ball State and No. 5 Akron opening play at Noon ET, with the CMU/NIU matchup to follow. 

With a win on Thursday, Ohio will advance to Friday's day of competition beginning at 12 p.m. ET, with a loss, Ohio will have to battle back through losers bracket. 

the 2025 MAC Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, May 10 at 1 p.m. ET, with the if necessary game to follow at 3:30 p.m. ET.
