Softball's Miller Named MAC Co-Pitcher of the Week

CLEVELAND -- For the second-straight week, redshirt sophomore pitcher Skipp Miller has earned Mid-American Conference Pitcher of the Week recognition, the league announced today (Feb. 27).

Miller (Bradford, Ohio) is coming off another solid weekend at the Frost Classic in Chattanooga, Tenn. Overall, Miller recorded a 0.55 ERA, going 2-0 in four appearances. She also recorded one complete game shutout, while pitching 12.2 innings and earning her first save of the season. Overall, she allowed one earned run on eight hits, while walking four and striking out 11, with opponents recording a .186 batting average against her.

In Ohio's win over UT Martin, Miller earned the save, pitching two innings and did not allow a run or a hit, while striking out three. She pitched two more innings later in the day in the Bobcats' 10-2 win over Georgetown. Allowing one run on three hits, while striking out two. In her only start of the weekend on Feb. 24 against Chattanooga, Miller pitched a complete game shutout, going all seven innings, while not allowing a run on five hits and four strikeouts. Miller wrapped up the weekend on Sunday against Valpo, earning the win, while pitching 1.2 innings, allowing no runs or hits, while striking out two in the 5-4 victory.

Miller and the rest of the Bobcats are back in action this weekend, March 1-3 when they head to Clarksville, Tenn. to compete in the Governor's Classic hosted by Austin Peay.
