
Ohio Men's Basketball Hosts Cleveland State Saturday Afternoon

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio men's basketball team (0-1) returns to Athens Saturday, Nov. 12 when they host Cleveland State (0-2). Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. inside the Convocation Center. The Bobcats matchup will be seen on ESPN3, where Marty Bannister and Dave Cecutti will be on the call.
The Bobcats' matchup can also be heard on the Ohio Sports Network from Learfield. Russ Eisenstein returns for his 15th season as the "Voice of the Bobcats" and will be joined by Ohio alum Rob Cornelius, who has been a part of the broadcasts for two decades. WXTQ (Power 105) in Athens returns as the 11-station network's flagship.

• Ohio is coming off a heartbreaking 70-69 loss at Belmont on a buzzer beater on Monday night.
• This is the 16th all-time meeting between Ohio and Cleveland State.

SCOUTING CLEVELAND STATE
Cleveland State comes to Athens with an 0-2 record after opening the season with loses to Notre Dame College and a 69-58 defeat at Cincinnati on Thursday night.
As a team, Cleveland State is averaging 63.0 points and 34.0 rebounds a game. The Vikings are shooting .426 from the field, .241 from three and .556 from the line. CSU also dished out 14.0 assists per game, while forcing 13.0 turnovers and grabbing 8.5 steals a game.

Redshirt senior forward Ben Vander Plas finished with nine points – all threes- and a team-high nine rebounds. Redshirt fifth year forward Jason Carter and senior guard Tommy Schmock both led the Bobcats with five assists.
Overall, Ohio shot 38.1 percent from the field, hit 12 threes, and went 7-of-10 from the line. LAST TIME OUT
With under two seconds to go with the Ohio men's basketball team (0-1) trailing by one, sophomore forward AJ Clayton (Roseville, Ohio) hit a three to give the Bobcats a two-point lead with 1.1 seconds to go. However, Belmont (1-0) hit a three of their own at the buzzer to give the Bruins a 70-69 win on opening night inside the Curb Event Center.
As a team, Ohio shot 43 percent from the field, 45 percent from three and were 8-of-9 from the line, while Belmont shot 49.1 percent from the field, 28 percent from three and were 7-of-13 from the line. Ohio out-rebounded the Bruins, 34-30 forced 13 turnovers. The Bobcats dished out eight assists and grabbed five steals, while Belmont dished out 14 assists and had eight steals.
Individually, the Bobcats were lead by graduate student forward Dwight Wilson III (Tallahassee, Fla.) who scored 20 points, with 8-of-10 from the field and 4-of-4 from the line, while grabbing eight rebounds. Senior guard DeVon Baker (Dayton, Ohio) scored 12 points, while senior guard Miles Brown (Rochester, Ind.) added 11. Clayton finished the game with seven points and a team-high nine rebounds. Junior guard Jaylin Hunter (Manchester, Conn.) finished the game with eight points.
For Belmont, Cade Tyson finished with 18 points, followed by Bun Sheppard with 18 points and the game-winning three.
WELCOME BACK DJ
In his return to the court after missing all of last season due to a knee injury, Dwight Wilson III put on a show.
Wilson III finished the game with a game-high 20 points, going 8-of-10 from the field and 4of-4 from the line. He also grabbed eight rebounds in 24 minutes of action.
BOBCAT DEBUTS
A number of Bobcats got their first minutes in the Green and White Monday night.
DeVon Baker made his debut with Ohio, scoring 12 points and dishing out three assists.
Jaylin Hunter added 11 points, while Aidan Hadaway scored three, and Gabe Wiznitzer scored two.
CLAYTON IN THE CLUTCH
AJ Clayton came in clutch in the final stretch on Nov. 7 at Belmont, hitting a three with 1.4 seconds to go, which at the time erased a 12-point deficit and put the Bobcats ahead.
While the Bobcats ended up falling in the game, Clayton also finished with a team-leading and career-high nine rebounds.
