Biography

2018: Played and started all 57 games for Ohio at third base this season…Hit .333 with 65 hits, eight doubles, three triples and a team-leading 12 homeruns… Scored 42 runs, recorded 44 RBI and had a .590 slugging percentage…Drew 16 walks, had a .397 on base percentage and a .915 fielding percentage…Hit .378 during MAC play, registering 31 hits, four doubles, seven homeruns, 30 RBI and 21 runs scored to go along with her .707 slugging percentage…Drew five walks to record a .411 on base percentage...Led Ohio at the MAC Tournament, hitting .364 with four hits, one triple and one RBI for a .545 slugging percentage…Registered two hits at the NCAA Knoxville Regional…Best offensive week came the week of April 11. On April 11 at Kent State in the second game of the doubleheader, Day was a force, going 5-for-5 with five runs scored, eight RBI and two home runs in Ohio's historic 22-7 victory over the Flashes. Day's eight RBI in the game is was the second most in MAC history in a single game. On April 13 against Akron, Day continued her solid play, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored, three RBI and a home run in Ohio's 8-0 win. Day's home run in the bottom of the sixth inning was of the walk off fashion, helping end the game in the sixth inning. In the second game of the doubleheader, Day went 3-for-4 with two RBI with a double in the Bobcats' 5-2 victory. Day wrapped up her weekend on April 14 with a 1-for-4 effort in Ohio's, 12-0, five inning victory. Day hit a home run in the bottom of the first inning, helping give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead at the time. She also scored one run and had one RBI in the victory as well...Named to the All-MAC First Team…NFCA All-Mideast Region First Team…Named to the MAC All-Tournament Team…Named the MAC East Player of the Week and the MAC Female Scholar Athlete of the Week once during the season…Named Academic All-MAC. 

2017: Started in 60 games for Ohio, stepping to the plate 198 times...earned 43 runs, 63 hits and 26 RBI...Registered 12 doubles, one single and two home runs with 16 walks and four stolen bases...putout 53 runners and ended with a .318 batting average and .379 OBP...maintained a 18-game hitting streak (March 4- April 1); earned 11 RBI through the streak...named Academic All-MAC...named Distinguished Scholar Athlete...named MAC East Player of the Week (3/21)...named All-MAC Second Team...never went more than two games without a hit...scored the most runs on the season for Ohio, also recorded the most hits .

2016: Appeared in 42 games this season, starting nine of them…She started at second base in game two against Ball State during regular season MAC play…Day had 32 at bats with five hits…One of those hits came against Texas Tech…She recorded nine runs with one RBI and was 4-6 on stole bases this year…Day scored the tying run against Bryant which would then lead to a Bobcat win 3-2 and take them to the championship game…Had five putouts on the year.

Prior to Ohio: A four-year and three-year letter winner of softball and soccer…Team Captain of Soccer (2014) and Softball (2014,2015)…Led her school to a League Championship in soccer (2014) and softball (2015)…Played under Coach Kevin Moody at her high school and Dan Below for the Ohio Hawks…A Honor Roll and Presidents Award recipient.

Personal: Daughter of Patrick Day and Debi Owens…Has two siblings, Patrick (13) and Andrea (9)…Volunteers at a Dog Shelter…Lists the Cleveland Browns as her favorite team…Plans to major in Exercise Physiology.
