
Baumann Leads Ohio Women’s Track & Field on Successful Day 1 of MAC Outdoor Championships

MUNCIE, Ind. – The Ohio women's track and field team concluded day one of the 2026 Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championships with four podium finishes overall and five finals qualifiers in the track events. The Bobcats currently sit at fourth in the women's standings with 13 points.
Among several successful performances was junior Emilee Baumann's (Powell, Ohio) record-breaking showing in the women's pole vault. Baumann broke her own school record in the event with a career-best mark of 3.97 meters (13-0.25). Baumann capped off her performance with a fourth-place overall finish, her best finish yet at the conference meet.
Ohio kicked off the meet with the women's hammer throw. Freshman Aubree Beery (Lancaster, Ohio) earned a podium finish in the event, placing sixth with a mark of 52.31 meters (171-7). Sophomore Ashley Cornathan also competed in the event, earning a career-best mark of 48.34 meters (158-7).
Two Bobcats earned top eight finishes in the women's 10,000 meters. Graduate student Kelsi Harris (Liberty Township, Ohio) led Ohio with a fifth-place time of 34:05.79. Senior Allie Martin (Kingwood, W. Va.) took home eighth place with a time of 35:08.43.
Junior Gracie Smith (Grove City, Ohio) concluded day one of the heptathlon and currently sits at 11th place with 2,042 points.
Ohio had athletes had athletes qualify for the finals of three track events. Senior Sara Doughman (South Lebanon, Ohio), junior Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) and sophomore Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) earned a spot in the women's 1500m finals. Doughman finished sixth (4:26.26), Greenwell took home ninth (4:29.00) and Stewart finished in 12th place (4:29.40).
Sophomore Ava Kincaid (Perrysburg, Ohio) placed seventh in the 400m hurdles preliminaries, qualifying for the finals with a time of 1:01.10. Freshman Alyvia Mentlow qualified for the women's 200m finals with a top five program time in the preliminaries. Mentlow's time of 23.87 is now the third-fastest outdoor time in program history.
The Bobcats will be back in action for day two of the MAC Outdoor Championships on Friday, May 15.
