Ohio Finishes in 16th Place at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge

PAWLEY'S ISLAND, South Carolina – The Ohio Women's Golf Team traveled to Pawley's Island, South Carolina, to compete in the 2026 Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge at the Caledonia Golf and Fish Club this past week (April 6-8). Ohio's starting lineup consisted of junior Morgan Rodgers, sophomore Ally Turner, junior Zoe Luebbers, freshman Paige Treherne, and senior Mackenzie McRee. Overall, the Bobcats finished in 16th place, with Rodgers being the top Bobcat, finishing tied for 40th place.

Middle Tennessee took home the first-place finish at the Challenge with an overall score of 876 (+24). Coastal Carolina followed with an overall score of 879 (+27). Samford University finished in third place with an overall score of 881 (+29), Charleston Southern finished in fourth place with an overall score of 885 (+33), and Morehead State would round out the top five with an overall score of 886 (+34). Ball State University was the highest placing MAC team, finishing in seventh place with an overall score of 890 (+38).

Rodgers (Centerville, Ohio) led the Bobcats' efforts all week, being the highest finishing Bobcat on all three days. Rodgers led things off on day one, shooting a 75(+4) and finishing the day tied for 29th place. During the second day of the Challenge, Rodgers shot an impressive 73 (+2) and ended the day tied for 24th place. During round three, Rodges would shoot an 81(+10), finishing tied for 40th overall, with a total score of 229 (+16).

Luebbers (Cincinnati, Ohio) would finish the Challenge tied 58th with an overall score of 233 (+ 20). During the first round of play, Luebbers shot an 80 (+9) and ended the day tied 74th. In the second round, Luebbers shot a 74 (+3), which included an eagle on the eighth hole. She would finish the day tied 55th, jumping 19 spots on the leaderboard. On day three, Luebbers would shoot a 79 (+8) and ended tied for 58th place.

McRee (Tucson, AZ) shot an opening round score of 81(+10) and ended day one tied 82nd. On day two of the Challenge, McRee shot a 77(+6), jumping eight spots into tied for 74th place. In round three, McRee shot a 78 (+7), finishing tied 73rd, with an overall score of 236(+23).

Treherne (Cincinnati, Ohio) would finish behind McRee, tied 77th, with an overall score of 238 (+25). During the opening round, Treherne would shoot a 77 (+6) and end the day tied 47th. In the second round, Treherne would shoot an 84 (+12) and end the day tied 85th. In round three, Treherne shot a 77 (+6) and ended tied for 77th.

Turner (Miamisburg, Ohio) ended day one with a score of 78 (+7) and sat tied for 82nd place. In round two, Turner would shoot an 80 (+9) and finish the day tied 74th with McRee. During round 3, Turner shot an 84 (+13) and ended the Challenge tied 85th with an overall score of 242 (+29).

The Bobcats are back in action at the 2026 Therese Hession Buckeye Invitational, April 17-18, at the OSU Scarlet Golf Course, hosted by Ohio State.
