SOUTHERN PINES, N.C.—The Ohio men's golf team wrapped up play at the Babygrande Donald Ross Collegiate on Wednesday afternoon (Mar. 11), hosted by George Mason University at Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club. The Bobcats finished 13
th of 20 competing teams, with a final score of 884 (+20).
Richmond won this year's tournament with a score of 858 (-6), followed by the hosts George Mason with a score of 861 (-2)
Individually, senior
Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) once again led the way for the Bobcats, firing rounds of 72, 74, and 72 across the three day tournament for a total of 218, finishing two over par. Lamont's +2 score was good for a T-22 finish in the nearly 100 player field at Mid-Pines. Gray Lamont's even par 72 in Wednesday's third and final round shot him 14 spots up the individual leaderboard into a tie for 22
nd in the 100 player field.
Following for the Bobcats was freshman
Rylan Hall (Stratford, Ontario), who shot a four over par 220, good for a tie for 32
nd and his best career finish. Hall opened with a one over par 73, followed with an even par 72 on day two that featured a string of three consecutive birdies on holes five through seven. Hall closed with a three over 75 in Wednesday's third and final round.
Senior
Will Kates (Centennial, Co.) bounced back from an opening round 79 with an even par 72 in Tuesday's second round, carding three birdies on the day. Kates finished with a one over 73 on Wednesday, for a total score of 224 (+8) and a T-56 finish.
Fellow senior
Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio) opened with a two over 74 on Monday's opening round, followed by a four over second round 76. Trafford improved with another 74 in Wednesday's third and final round, for a total score of 224 (+8) and a T-56 finish.
Senior
Jack O'Donnell (Powell, Ohio) opened with a 78 in Monday's first round, followed up with a 75 in Tuesday's second round. O'Donnell finished with an 87 in Wednesday's final round for a final score of 240.
Elsewhere, freshman
Jack Flores (Worthington, Ohio), competed for the Bobcats at the Hampden-Sydney Invitational at nearby Foxfire Golf Club. Flores shot consecutive rounds of 77 in the tournament to finish at a 154 (+10), tying for 41
st in the 120-player field.
The Bobcats will return to action at the Sweetens Cove Intercollegiate on March 23-25, hosted by Miami University at Sweetens Cove Golf Club in South Pittsburg, Tennessee.
