West Lafayette, Ind.- The Ohio Men's Golf team returned to action on Monday and Tuesday, competing in the Purdue Fall Invitational hosted by Purdue University at the Kampen-Cosler Golf Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex. The Bobcats finished 12
th out of 15 competing teams with a score of 893 (+29).
Taking first place were the host Boilermakers with a score of 839 (-25), followed by Butler University with a score of 858 (-6).
Individually, senior
Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio) led the way for the Bobcats, finishing T-11 with a score of 215 (-1). Trafford opened with a 74 (+2) in Monday morning's first round, before finding red numbers in the afternoon, carding a 68 (-4). Trafford closed out the tournament with a 73 (+1) in Tuesday's third and final round, good for his second consecutive individual top 15 finish.
Following Trafford was Senior
Will Kates (Centennial, Co.), who finished with a score of 225 (+9) for a T-49 finish. Kates opened with an even par 72 in round one, followed by a 76 (+4) in round two, before closing with a 77 (+5) in Tuesday's final round.
Senior
Jack O'Donnell (Powell, Ohio) opened with a 75 (+3) in round one, followed by a 76 (+4) in round two. O'Donnell closed out the tournament with a 75 (+3) in the third round for a score of 226 (+10) and a T-52 finish.
Senior
Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario) opened with a 76 (+4) in Monday's first round, and followed up with a 77 (+5) in round two. Lamont closed with a 75 (+3) in Monday's final round for a score of 228 and a T-58 finish.
Freshman
Rylan Hall (hometown) carded an 81 (+9) in the opening round, followed by a 76 (+4) in the afternoon. He closed with a 78 (+6) in the final round for a score of 235 (+79), finishing 74
th.
Playing in the 36-hole individual tournament at the Ackerman-Allen Golf Course at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, Freshman
Jack Flores (Worthington, Ohio) shot a 74 (+3) in Monday's first round, followed by a second round 75 (+4) for a score of 149 (+7) and a T15 finish.
The Bobcats will return to action on October 20
th, when they wrap up the fall season at the Dayton Flyer Invitational, hosted by Dayton University at the South Course at NCR Country Club.
