Pawleys Island, SC—The Ohio Men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Golfweek/Stifel Spring Challenge on Wednesday (April 8) at True Blue Golf Club. The Bobcats placed 15^th out of 16 competing teams with a total score of 896 (+32).

 

UConn won this year's competition with a score of seven under par, followed by runners-up UAB and George Washington at two over par.

 

Freshman Rylan Hall (Stratford, Ontario) led the Bobcats at True Blue, shooting rounds of 73, 71, and 72 at the par-72 layout for an even par 216. That score assured him a T-18 finish, his first top 20 as a Bobcat. Hall carded 12 birdies on the week and played to a 4,73 scoring average on par-5's, both in the top ten in the 90 player field.

 

Following Hall was senior Nathaniel Gray Lamont (Guelph, Ontario). Lamont shot rounds of 77, 71, and 76 for a total score of 224 (+8), finishing T54 for the tournament.

 

Senior Will Kates (Centennial, Co.) shot rounds of 76 and 78 in Monday and Tuesday's first and second rounds, before improving with a final round 73 on Wednesday to finish at 227 (+11), and T65 overall.

 

Senior Carson Trafford (Dublin, Ohio) shot rounds of 75, 80, and 76 on the week to finish with a total score of 231, good for a T75 finish.

 

Graduate student Sam Hall (Gullane, Scotland) shot a first round 81, before finishing with rounds of 78 and 79 in the second and third rounds for a fina score of 243, finishing 88^th.

 

The Bobcats will be back in action on April 20 to take part in the Murfield Shootout, hosted by Miami University at The Country Club of Muirfield. Stay tuned to ohiobobcats.com for updates and final results from the tournament.
