KEWADIN, Mich. – The Ohio women's golf team kicked off the 2024-25 season at the 2024 A-Ga-Ming Invitational hosted by Central Michigan Sept. 1-2 at the Sundance Golf Course. The Bobcats finished the tournament in fifth place with an overall score of 935 (+71), while senior
Sydney Longstreth placed 17
th.
Bradley (+46) won the event, followed by Bowling Green (+52), CMU (+53) and Western Michigan (+60).
As a team, Ohio opened the first round with a 318, before coming on Sunday to shoot a 324. The Bobcats concluded the tournament on Monday, shooting a 303, the fourth-lowest round of the day.
Individually, Longstreth (Carmel, Ind.) led the Bobcats, recording rounds of 79 and 77 on day one, before finishing Monday with a 75 for a total tournament score of 231 (+15) and a 17th-place finish.
Sophomore
Zoe Luebbers (Cincinnati, Ohio) was next, placing 24
th after shooting scores of 79 and 78 on Sunday, before concluding the event with a 78 for a total of 235 (+19), while junior
Mackenzie McRee (Tucson, Ariz.) placed 29
th (80+83+74=237) and finishing 21-over.
Sophomore
Morgan Rodgers (Centerville, Ohio) finished 33
rd overall, opening the tournament with an 84, before finishing round two with a 78 and round three with a 76, finishing the weekend with a 238 (+22). In her collegiate debut, freshman
Saylor Wharff (Marietta, Ohio) earned a 46
th-place finch, shooting an 81 and an 80 on day one, before finishing Monday with an 81 for a three-round total of 242 (+26).
Playing as an individual for the Bobcats was sophomore
Anna Coccia (New Albany, Ohio) who finished 58
th. Coccia opened the weekend with a 78 in round one, before shooting an 88 and 81 in the final two rounds for a two-day total of 247 (+31).
The Bobcats are back in action Sept. 16-17 at the 2024 Brittany Kelly Classic. The two-day event is hosted by Ball State in Yorktown, Ind. at The Players Club Golf Course.
