Ohio Splits Saturday Meets with Miami and Toledo

OXFORD, Ohio -- The Ohio swimming and diving team defeated Toledo (164-136) and lost to Miami (189-109) Saturday afternoon inside the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
Against Miami:
Senior Katherine Garrity (Eagan, Minn.) won the 1,000-yard freestyle in 10:17.76 and also placed second in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 5:04.49.
Freshman Olivia Morlok (Columbus, Ind.) placed second in the 1,000-yard freestyle with a time of 10:33.27.
Freshman Gabrielle Brust (Granville, Ohio) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 56.80 and finished second in the 100-yard butterfly (55.88) and in the 200-yard IM (2:06.12).
Senior Samantha Glass (Villa Hills, Ky.) finished first in the 200-yard backstroke at 2:04.44.
Sophomore McKenzie Grau (Mason, Ohio) earned a pair of second place finishes in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:04.50) and in the 100-yard freestyle (52.35).
Freshman Peyton Farrell (Beavercreek, Ohio) placed second in the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:05.81.
On the relay front, the 200-yard freestyle team of Grau, sophomore Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio), freshman Caroline Dunigan (Lansdale, Pa.), and freshman Meg Voigt (Bryan, Ohio) placed second with a time of 1:35.93.
Against Toledo:
Sophomore Emma Fortman (Madeira, Ohio) placed first in the 200 free with a time of 1:52.84.
Sophomore Madeline Marks (Bentonville, Ark.) placed second in the 200 fly (2:05.93) behind Farrell.
Voigt placed second in the 50-yard free with a time of 24.27.
Glass placed second in the 200-yard IM with a time of 2:09.29.
In the 1-meter diving, sophomore Halli Siwik (Fishers, Ind.) and redshirt junior Abigail Jordan (West Chester, Ohio) went 1-2 with scores of 223.65 and 221.55, respectively. In the 3-meter diving, Siwick placed second with a score of 240.50.
In the 200-yard medley relay, the team of Fortman, Katelyn O'Brien (Williams Bay, Wis.), Farrell, and Voigt placed second with a time of 1:48.24.
UP NEXT
The Bobcats return to action with a trip to Eastern Michigan for the Mid-American Conference Championship April 15-17. The event will take place inside the Michael H. Jones Natatorium.
