
Zuñiga Guzman Named Head Diving Coach

ATHENS, Ohio – Frida Zuñiga Guzman is joining the Ohio swimming and diving program as the Bobcats' head diving coach, as announced by head coach Mason Norman today (June 5).
Zuñiga Guzman comes to Ohio by way of East Carolina, where she was a member of the Pirates' diving program from 2023-26 and boasted an undefeated home record. Across her career, she earned two AAC Most Outstanding Diver nods, was recognized as the American Athletic Conference Diver of the Week eight times and named ECU Most Outstanding Diver three consecutive seasons.
Zuñiga Guzman is a well-decorated athlete and ECU's current record holder in both 3-meter and platform, also claiming the freshman title in both events. The multi-time NCAA Championships qualifier and competitor claimed AAC Champion titles across three seasons (2024-26), highlighted by a three-event sweep in 2026 (1m, 3m, platform). Notably, she scored 87 points at the 2025 AAC Championships with three top-three finishes and tallied 75 points as a freshman at the 2023 AAC Championships. In her final season, Zuñiga Guzman claimed 20 first-place finishes in dual meets.
A mid-season transfer in Spring 2023, Zuñiga Guzman started her freshman year at Universidad Cuauhtemoc in Mexico. Prior to her collegiate career, she made multiple appearances at the Pan American Junior Championships and Junior World Championships. She is a two-time Pan American Junior Championships Bronze medalist (2017-platform, 2019- platform synchro), also taking home the silver in 3-meter synchro in 2019. In 2021, Zuñiga Guzman was the Pan American Junior Games 3-meter gold medalist and platform silver medalist. She was also a 3-meter synchro seventh-place finisher at the 2018 Junior World Championships and a 2023 Pan American Games finalist.
