Prior to Ohio: Gonzalez is a four-year varsity letter-winning swimmer from Oswego East High School and was captain of her team in 2025. She placed eighth in the 200-yard breaststroke at the NCSA competition in the summer of 2025, with a time of 2:37.46. Gonzalez has been swimming for the Academy Bullets for the past four years and is a four-time National Women's Champion alongside her teammates. Gonzalez was named a Scholastic All-American and a CSCAA All-American in 2025, has been on the High Honor Roll the past four years, and has earned 4.0 certificates the past three years.

Personal: Gonzalez is a native of Aurora, Illinois, and is the daughter of Carlos and Liz Gonzalez. She has one older brother named Justin, who is a member of the Illinois State University Hockey Team. In her free time, Gonzalez loves to bake, cook, and volunteer for numerous events. At Ohio, Gonzalez plans to major in Chemistry with future plans of becoming an Anesthesiologist.
