2016-17: Made her freshman debut at the Dayton Flyer 5K where she placed in the top 35 with a time of 20:17.4… Recorded her best 6K time at the Virginia Tech Alumni Invite clocking in at 23:54.1 to place in the top 45.
Prior to Ohio: Ran Cross Country, Track & Field, and played basketball for all 4 years at Covington High School… Broke several high school records including the Cross Country record in 2013, 2015, and 2016; the mile record in 2015 and 2016; and the 2-mile record… Was involved in the National Honors Society from 2015-2016.
Personal: Daughter of John and Kim Shell… Has 2 brothers, John and Jack, and 1 sister, Chloe (graduated from Bluffton University in 2015)… Aunt, Kristy McMaken ran track for Ohio… Lists favorite athlete as Katie Ledecky… Hobbies include reading, video games, and swimming… Plans to major in Sports Medicine to become an Athletic Trainer.
