Ohio Cross Country Records Multiple PR’s & Top Program Times at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invite

CHICAGO – The Ohio men's and women's cross country team concluded competition at the Sean Earl Loyola Lakefront Invitational on Friday, Sept. 25.
The Tom Cooney Women's 6k Championship race kicked off the meet. Junior Reece Savage (Johnstown, Ohio) was the first Bobcat to cross the finish line, finishing 65th overall with a PR of 20:29.49. In addition to the PR, Savage's time ranks sixth all-time for the 6k at Ohio. Ohio's next finisher was sophomore Savana Miller, who finished 81st overall with a personal-best time of 20:42.01. Miller's is the seventh-fastest 6k time in women's program history.
Not far behind Miller were senior Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) and junior Kaitlyn Stewart (Floyd Knobs, Ind.) Greenwell finished 85th with a PR of 20:44.84 and Stewart came in 89th place with a PR of 20:48.59. Greenwell and Stewart's finishing times rank ninth and 10th, respectively, all-time for the 6k at Ohio. Sophomore Samantha Shreve (Buckhannon, W. Va.) and senior Eliza Streit (Plain City, Ohio) rounded out Ohio's top six finishers. Shreve recorded a PR of 21:17.52 and Streit finished with a PR of 21:20.37.
The Tom Cooney Men's 8k Championships race commenced after the women's race concluded. Junior Michael Dellasanta (Columbus, Ohio) led Ohio's men's squad, finishing 72nd overall with a PR of 23:46.42. Dellasanta's time is the fourth-fastest in men's program history. Senior Sam Beeler (Cincinnati, Ohio) was the second Bobcat to cross the finish line with a time of 24:37.77. Sophomore Luca Cirincione (Georgetown, Ind.) was Ohio's next finishers, recording a PR of 24:52.20. Freshman Caleb Larson (West Liberty, Ohio) rounded out the Ohio's top four performers with a personal-best time of 25:02.02.
Two Bobcats competed in the women's 6k open race. Freshman Lucy Marketos (Maineville, Ohio) finished 55th overall with a PR of 22:10.89. Freshman Kaitlyn Oshimura (Carmel, Ind.) ran a PR of 22:44.37, finishing 70th overall.
The Bobcats will be back in action at the Under Armour Pre National Invitational on Friday, Oct. 16 in Terre Haute, Ind.
