ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio soccer team (2-2-0, 0-0-0 MAC) fell to Pittsburgh (5-1-1, 0-0-0 ACC) 3-0 Thursday (Sept. 3) afternoon at Chessa Field.

Overall, Ohio took four shots and took two corner kicks. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh scored three goals, recorded 24 shots, with nine on goal and eight corner kicks.

In goal, freshman Ayla Rammel (Englewood, Ohio) got the start, making five saves on nine shots on target.

The Panthers were quick to attack, earning three corners in the first eight minutes, pressuring the Bobcat's defense. Pittsburgh followed with their first goal in the ninth minute to take a 1-0 lead.

Ohio looked to answer with a corner in the 18th but could not convert. The Panthers scored two quick back-to-back goals in the 21st and 23rd for a commanding 3-0 lead.

At the half, Ohio recorded two shots, while taking two corners. Pittsburgh recorded three goals with 14 shots, six on goal, and took four corners.

The Bobcats looked to bounce back in the second half, pressuring the Panther defense early. Pittsburgh looked to extend their lead late in the game, but Ohio's defense held steady after consecutive corners.

Ohio looked for a late push after junior Sania Dearing (Pickerington, Ohio) sent crosses into the box, but could not convert, ultimately losing the match, 3-0.

The Bobcats are back in action Sunday, Sept. 6, to take on Indiana. First touch at Chessa Field is set for 1 p.m. ET and is available to watch on ESPN+.
