Ohio Women’s Golf Places Ninth at Mary Fossum Invitational

LANSING, Mich. – The Ohio Women's Golf Team traveled to Lansing, Michigan, to compete in the Mary Fossum Invitational, hosted by Michigan State, on Sept. 20-21 at the Forest Akers Golf Club. The Bobcat's lineup consisted of senior Zoe Luebbers (Cincinnati, Ohio), senior Morgan Rodgers (Centerville, Ohio), junior Ally Turner, junior Saylor Wharff (Marietta, Ohio), and sophomore Katie Husted (Columbus, Ohio). Due to wet course conditions after day one, day two of the invitational was shortened to 36 holes. Overall, the Bobcats finished tied for ninth place, with Luebbers being the highest Bobcat finisher, ending tied for 38th place.
Delaware (+23) took the top spot at the invitational, with Central Michigan (+27) finishing in second place, Michigan State (+32) finished third and Rutgers (+33) and Bowling Green (+33) tied for fourth, and Findlay (+34) finished in sixth.
As a team, Ohio shot a 319 (+31) on day one of the invitational and finished the day in eleventh place. On the final day of competition, Ohio finished the invitational tied for ninth place with a score of 313 (+25), finishing with an overall score of 632 (+56).
On the first day of competition, Luebbers shot a 85 (+13) and ended the day in 73rd place. On day two of competition, Luebber shot a 73 (+1) and jumped to end the day tied for 38th place. Luebbers finished with an overall score of 158 (+14).
Turner shot a round one score of 80 (+8), ending the day in 41st place. On the second day, Turner finished in 50th place with a score of 80 (+8). Overall, Turner finished with a total score of 160 (+16) and placed tied for 52nd.
Husted finished day one of the competition with a score of 81 (+9) and ended day two with a score of 79 (+7). Husted finished tied for 53rd place with an overall score of 160 (+16).
Rodgers also finished tied for 52nd place with an overall score of 160 (+16). On the first day of the weekend, Rodgers finished with a score of 79 (+7) and ended the day in 39th place. During day two of competition, Rodgers shot a 81 (+9) and finished the day in 62nd place.
Wharff finished day one of the competition with a score of 79 (+7) and ended day two with a score of 88 (+16). Wharff finished tied for 74th place with an overall score of 167 (+23).
The Bobcats return to the course next month (Oct. 5-6) for the 2026 Butler Fall Invitational hosted by Butler University at Highland Golf Club.
