
Ohio Baseball Drops Game to Toledo

ATHENS, Ohio – The Ohio Baseball team (10-40, 7-22 MAC) dropped Saturday afternoon's game to the Toledo Rockets (26-25, 19-10 MAC) by a score of 7-5.

The Bobcats scored five runs on five hits with one error, while the Rockets scored seven runs on 12 hits and one error.

On the hill, sophomore left hander Hunter Winston (Hinckley, Ohio) got the start, allowing five runs on seven hits while striking out three. Three other Bobcats would take the mound in the game.

At the plate, junior catcher Tyler Stack (Oswego, Ill.) powered the Bobcats, going a perfect four-for-four at the plate with a double, two RBI's, scoring a run and adding a stolen base.

Toledo took an early lead with a run in the second inning, before adding three in the third and another run in the fourth.

Ohio answered back in the bottom of the fourth, when Stack doubled to score senior outfielder Taylor Harris (Parrish, Fla.) and junior outfielder Cameron Boyd (Villa Hills, Ky.). Stack advanced to third on a bunt single from redshirt junior shortstop Cam Bryant (Miamisburg, Ohio) before scoring on a wild pitch to bring the Bobcats within two runs.

Senior lefthander Landon Price (Middle Point, Ohio) would cruise through the next three frames, holding Toledo scoreless on three hits in the fifth through seventh innings.

Toledo would add two runs in the top of the eighth to extend their lead to 7-3.

The Bobcats would answer back in the bottom of the frame, when Harris reached base on an error, scoring senior utilityman Cale Steinbaugh (Georgetown, Ill.). Two batters later, sophomore outfielder Brady Alexander (Glenshaw, Pa.) would score from third on a double steal, cutting the deficit to two.

The 7-5 score would hold final, as the Bobcats were unable to score in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Bobcats will return to action for their final home game of the 2026 season tomorrow (May 10). First pitch is set for 1 p.m. at Bob Wren Stadium, and the game can be seen on ESPN+.
