Ohio Women’s Track & Field’s Greenwell Set to Compete in the NCAA DI East First Round on Thursday

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio women's track and field junior Ellie Greenwell (Park Hills, Ky.) is set to compete at the 2026 NCAA Division I East First Round, hosted by Kentucky, on Thursday, May 28 in Lexington, Ky.
NCAA DI East First Round – Schedule
Women's 1500m (First Round) – Thursday (May 28), 6:30 PM ET
Women's 1500m (Quarterfinals) – Saturday (May 30), 5:15 PM ET
Greenwell qualified for the women's 1500m and is Ohio's first NCAA East qualifier since the 2021 season. The junior will compete in the first round of the 1500m at 6:30 p.m. ET on Thursday. Athletes who advance to the next round will race in the women's 1500m quarterfinals on Saturday at 5:15 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 30. Remaining competitors in the women's 1500m will advance to the next rounds, which will be competed at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on June 10-13 in Eugene, Ore.
Greenwell has been a top performer for Ohio throughout the indoor and outdoor season. The junior has been responsible for several of the program's top marks including her times in both the 1500m and 800m. Greenwell recently capped off the 2026 MAC Outdoor Championships by winning the silver medal in the women's 1500m and placing fifth overall in the women's 800m. She also earned All-MAC Second Team honors for her performance at the conference meet. Greenwell is the first Bobcat to earn conference honors since the 2021 outdoor season.
